Rapids sign USMNT goalkeeper Zack Steffen from Manchester City, sources say

The Colorado Rapids have signed U.S. men’s national team goalkeeper Zack Steffen, sources with knowledge of the deal have confirmed to The Denver Post.Steffen, 28, was previously with Manchester City but played a season on loan for English Championship side Middlesbrough before having surgery to treat a knee injury in May of 2023. He made two appearances in the Premier League with the reigning champions.He previously expressed a desire to leave City once his loan was up with Middlesbrough last summer — though he was under contract until 2025 — in hopes of getting more time on the field elsewhere.As for William Yarbrough, who had the starting job in goal before undergoing knee surgery last August, his contract option for another year was declined by the Rapids after the 2023 season. Both lanes of Interstate 25 northbound are back open north of Exit 245 in Mead after closing for nearly two hours due to a crash, according to Mountain View Fire Rescue.Traffic could be seen on CDOT cameras driving around the crash on the median, which was reported at 11 a.m. Mountain View Fire Rescue reported on X the crash caused extensive backups in the area.Photos from the scene show at least two vehicles, a pickup truck and an SUV, were involved in the crash. 41-Year-Old Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Judson AvenueLAS VEGAS, NV (January 3, 2024) – Alexandro Hernandez-Herrera was arrested Sunday after a fatal pedestrian collision on Lamb Boulevard.Officers say 29-year-old Hernandez-Herrera was driving a 2023 Tesla Model 3 north and drifted into the right turn lane. In that lane, a pedestrian was trying to cross outside of a marked crosswalk when the driver collided with them, resulting in life-threatening injuries.Paramedics arrived, but the 41-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His intellect earned him wider acclaim off the field.Ryan, who led the the Browns to their last NFL title in 1964 while spending his offseasons getting a doctorate diploma in mathematics, died Monday. He was 87.Ryan’s family said in a statement that he died while being cared for at a nursing home in Connecticut.
